Beamte bei den Postnachfolgeunternehmen waren bei der damaligen Deutschen Bundespost beschäftigt und sind nun aufgrund der Umwandlung der Deutschen Bundespost in die Aktiengesellschaften Deutsche Telekom AG, Deutsche Post AG und Deutsche Postbank AG im Jahre 1995 bei den hiesigen Aktiengesellschaften beschäftigt. Seit der Umwandlung ist es den Aktiengesellschaften nicht mehr möglich, Beamte einzustellen.
Beamte der Postnachfolgeunternehmen
Die Beamten der Postnachfolgeunternehmen sind gemäß § 2 Absatz 2 Postpersonalrechtsgesetz (PostPersRG) als Bundesbeamte beschäftigt. Demnach gelten für sie das Bundesbeamtengesetz und weitere Bundesgesetze. Mit dem Gesetz zum Personalrecht der Beschäftigten der früheren Deutschen Bundespost (PostPersRG) wurden für Postbeamte allerdings besondere Regelungen, wie zum Beispiel zur Arbeitszeit und Sonderzahlungen, geschaffen.
Besoldung und Arbeitszeit
Die Arbeitszeit beträgt 38,5 Stunden pro Woche und es gelten die allgemeinen Besoldungstabellen für Bundesbeamte. Abweichende Besoldungstabellen ergeben sich für in-sich-beurlaubte Postbeamte.
In § 78 BBesG heißt es auszugsweise:
1) Für Beamte, die bei den Postnachfolgeunternehmen beschäftigt sind, sind die Beträge des Grundgehaltes nach Anlage IV, des Familienzuschlags nach Anlage V und der Amts- und Stellenzulagen nach Anlage IX mit dem Faktor 0,9524 zu multiplizieren. Die Beträge des Grundgehaltes in den Besoldungsgruppen A 2 bis A 8 sind vor der Multiplikation um 10,42 Euro zu vermindern. Es werden aber mindestens die zuletzt geltenden Beträge gezahlt.
In-Sich-Beurlaubung
Beamte der Postnachfolgeunternehmen haben die Möglichkeit sich aus dem Beamtenverhältnis zu beurlauben, um eine befristete Tätigkeit als Arbeitnehmer bei einer der Aktiengesellschaften aufzunehmen. Diesen Prozess nennt man auch In-Sich-Beurlaubung. Während einer In-Sich-Beurlaubung ist der Postbeamte von allen beamtenrechtlichen Regelungen befreit und tritt in ein Arbeitsverhältnis durch einen Arbeitsvertrag mit allen arbeitsrechtlichen Bestimmungen ein.
Gesetzentwurf zur Verlängerung der sogenannten "55er-Vorruhestandsregelung"
Der Deutsche Bundestag hat Ende April 2017 einen Gesetzentwurf zur Verlängerung der sogenannten „55er-Vorruhestandsregelung“ für die Beamten in den Postnachfolgeunternehmen verabschiedet. Bis zur Sommerpause soll dieses in Kraft treten.
Besoldungstabelle Stufenzuteilung
Bei den in-sich-beurlaubten Beamten in Postnachfolgeunternehmen existieren 8 Stufen, wobei die Stufe 8 lediglich in der Besoldungsgruppe A 9 angewandt wird.

Gesetz zur Verbesserung der personellen Struktur beim Bundeseisenbahnvermögen und in den Postnachfolgeunternehmen (BEDBPStuktG)
Der Geltungsbereich des Gesetzes umfasst Beamte des Bundeseisenbahnvermögens, die von Umstrukturierungsmaßnahmen bei der Deutsche Bahn Aktiengesellschaft betroffen sind, bei einem der Postnachfolgeunternehmen Deutsche Post AG, Deutsche Postbank AG oder Deutsche Telekom AG (Aktiengesellschaft) tätig sind und Beamte, die bei der Bundesanstalt für Post und Telekommunikation Deutsche Bundespost beschäftigt sind.
Jahresbetrag der Zahlungsverpflichtung gemäß § 4 Abs. 4 BEDBPStuktG
Der Jahresbetrag der Zahlungsverpflichtung gemäß § 4 Abs. 4 BEDBPStuktG ist die Summe aus den pro Jahr erworbenen Versorgungsbezügen einschließlich 80 Prozent des Kinderzuschlags und der Unternehmensbeiträge gemäß § 16 Abs. 1 des Postpersonalrechtsgesetzes.
